Privacy policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
- We never store shopper photos. A photo is used only to create the try-on preview.
- We don’t collect shoppers’ names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.
- Stores see anonymous totals, like how many try-ons happened, never who did them.
Who we are
OnMe is a virtual try-on service for fashion stores on Shopify. A store that uses OnMe shows a “Try On You” button on its product pages. Shoppers can add a photo of themselves and see how a product might look on them.

For shoppers
Your photo. When you add a photo, it stays in your browser tab so you can try on other products during your visit. It is cleared when you close the tab. When you ask for a try-on, the photo is sent securely to our server and on to our AI try-on provider, which creates the preview and sends it back. We do not save your photo or the preview on our servers or in any database. Under our settings, the provider keeps the result for a short time (about an hour) and then deletes it.
Please only upload photos of yourself, and don’t upload photos of children.
Anonymous usage. To show stores how the button is used, we record events such as “opened the try-on”, “added a photo”, “got a try-on” and “added to cart”, with the product, its price and the store. These are linked to a random ID kept in your browser, not to your name or account. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Abuse protection. To stop misuse, we limit how many try-ons can be made from one internet connection. For this we use a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, kept only briefly.
Size help. If you use the size helper, your answers stay in your browser tab and are not sent to us.
For stores (merchants)
- We keep your store’s Shopify address and name, your monthly try-on allowance, and the anonymous usage events described above, so we can show your dashboard and manage credits.
- The OnMe app does not currently ask for access to your customers, orders or other store data.
- Your dashboard link is private. Anyone with the link can see your store’s numbers, so share it carefully. We can replace it on request.
- Product photos from your store are sent to our providers to create try-ons and to check whether a photo shows the product on a model.
Services we use
| Type of service | What it does for OnMe |
|---|---|
| AI try-on provider | Creates the try-on image from the shopper photo and product photo |
| AI image analysis provider | Looks at the product photo only, to choose the best try-on setting |
| Cloud hosting and database providers | Run our website and server, and store store settings and the anonymous usage numbers |
| Shopify | Runs the stores and the OnMe app |
These providers only use the data to provide their service to us. Contact us for the current list of providers.
We do not sell personal data, and we don’t use shopper photos to train AI models.
How long we keep data
- Shopper photos and previews: not stored by us.
- Anonymous usage events: kept while the store uses OnMe, so the store can see its results. A store can ask us to delete them at any time.
- When a store removes the OnMe app, its button stops working, and we delete its data on request or when Shopify asks us to.
Your choices and rights
You can use the store without the try-on button. For any question about your data, or to ask us to delete data linked to you or your store, email hello.onmeapp@gmail.com. We aim to reply within 7 days.
Changes
If we change how OnMe uses data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
